Parking
Sir,—The writer of “Auto Gossip” deplores the fact that motorists still circle the streets looking for parkingmeter spaces instead of using off-street parking premises Does he not realise that these premises discourage such parking with their high initial charge? The average working man with only an hour in which to have lunch and do shopping is not likely to pay 2s 6d for, at most, half an hour’s parking, so he must still circle the streets.— Yours, etc., L. J. OXLEY. Diamond Harbour, December 24, 1965.
