Thefts From Cars
There were at least eight thefts from cars in the Christchurch area on Frida, and Saturday, and in some cases Christmas presents were stolen. One couple who had parked their ear in the Riccarton area found that a window had been forced and all their Christmas presents valued at nearly £2O had been stolen. Several burglaries were re-i ported to the police during; the week-end. On Christmas Eve a house in Hoon Hay road was entered but nothing was stolen. Cameras and property valued at £340 were stolen from a house in Avonhead road. On Christmas Day property; valued at £4O was stolen from a house in Waltham road. Yesterday an attempt was: made to break into a house: in Camden street, but nothing: was stolen. About £6 was taken when the lona Church in Breezes road was broken into yester-: day afternoon.
