OVERDUE BOAT
Search By Launches
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Dec. 26. The police and coastguard launches searched until dusk in the Hauraki gulf tonight for a white 19ft runabout overdue on a trip to Waiheke Island.
The launch, carrying a Castor Bay family, was due al Matiatia on Saturday.
On board are Mr and Mrs M. Williams, of Kenmure avenue. and their two daughters aged 10 and six. A police officer tonight said the search was purely routine at the moment. “We believe Mr Williams is not familiar with the area,” he said, “and could have put in to another bay."
