IMPORTED TV SETS

‘Misunderstood Regulations’ (N Z Press Association) AUCKLAND, Nov. 5. A Customs Department official at Whenuapai today refuted allegations that people returning from overseas were having imported television sets confiscated. He was replying to complaints from passengers returning from Fiji, who claimed the customs officers at Whenuapai were telling them sets brought back from overseas could not enter New Zealand. The passengers had obviously misunderstood the regulations, he added. Thus, these were subject to import licensing and duty.
