WAR IN VIETNAM
Hong Kong Use Denied
(N.Z.P A. -Reuter— Copyright) LONDON. October 12. Britain yesterday denied a Chinese allegation that she is allowing the United States to use Hong Kong as a base for aggressive war operations against Vietnam, wellinformed sources said in London.
The denial was contained in a British Note sent to the Chinese Foreign Ministry in Peking yesterday by the British diplomatic mission there. The British Note was in reply to a Chinese Note handed to the British Charge d’Affaires in Peking, Mr Kenneth Wilford, on September 1. The Chinese Note, extracts of which were published in Peking, demanded that Britain take immediate effective measures to stop all United States activities in Hong Kong. British sources said the United States had no militaryfacilities in Hong Kong.
