SIR TORRE FOR CUP
"The Press” Special Service PALMERSTON NORTH. Sir Torre’s bold third in the Golden Games Handicap at Masterton on Saturday has suspended his jumping programme. His trainer, J. P. Carter, will concentrate on preparing him for the New Zealand Cup at Riccarton next month. Carter said yesterday: “1 put him over hurdles to wake him up a bit. He has not been trying in his races and there is nothing like hurdling to get their interest back.” Sir Torre races in the same colours as Toureg, those of Mr H. Parker, of Carterton He could cause an upset on Saturday when he is engaged in the Wellington Handicap.
