N.Z. Yacht 11th In 1st Race

The New Zealand entry in the seventh world Flying Dutchman class yachting championship. Takapuna, finished eleventh on the first day of the six-day race yesterday.
Sailed by G. A. Smale and R. H. Roberts, of Auckland, she was one of 23 boats taking part.
The first race was won by the Italian yacht Aldebaran IV, in the time of 2hr 32min 15sec.
