SAFETY STUDY
Motion For House (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Sept. 14. Parliament today agreed without debate to a motion that a select committee be appointed to consider methods of improving road safety in New Zealand. The motion was moved by the Minister of Transport (Mr McAlpine). The committee will have leave to sit during the forthcoming recess at such times as it may see fit, and report to the House within 28 days of the beginning of the next session. Members of the committee will be Mr McAlpine, Mr W. H. Brown (Govt., Palmerston North), Mr D. J. Carter (Govt., Raglan), Mr A. J. Faulkner (Opp., Roskill), Mr J. B. Gordon (Govt., Clutha), Mr J. Mathison (Opp., Avon), Mr H. L. J. Maj’ (Opp., Porirua), Mr R. D. Muldoon (Govt., Tamaki), Mr H. E. L. I Bering (Govt., Rangiora). and Mr H. Watt (Opp., Onehunga).
