Supply Of Armaments

Sir,—The picture of a vast assembly of helicopters in the paper shows just how much wars and rumours of wars mean to America. Her economy is based on this situation. Who supplies armaments to both India and Pakistan? Who supplied vast quantities of armaments to Chiang Kaishek which went straight across to the Communists? (that did not matter to the U.S.A., because they were paid for). Who is trying to exterminate the Vietnamese by costly armaments? Who is cashing in on the death of the Asians? Such a prospect is possible only in a capitalistic society. In socialistic countries no-one has any interest in the manufacture of armaments. The contradiction of it all is for ail to see and understand.—Yours, etc., P.J.A. September 14, 1965.
