(N.Z Press Association) GISBORNE, Aug. 5. Exerting heavy pressure in the second spell after trailing 8-8 at half-time, Hawke’s Bay beat East Coast, 27-8, at Ruatoria today. The All Black flanker, K. Tremain, played a slashing game for Hawke’s Bay, scoring three grand tries in the second spell. For Hawke’s Bay, tries were scored by D. Smith (2), W. Davis (2) and Tremain (3). A. Small kicked three conversions. East Coast's points came from a try by J. Manuel and two penalty goals by D. Hooper.
