NEW GUINEA VISIT
Army Chief To Make Tour
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) PORT MORESBY, July 22. The Deputy Chief of the Australian General Staff, Major-General F. G. Hassett, will arrive in Port Moresby next Monday for a five-day visit of Army establishments in the territory. He will inspect the headquarters of the Ist and 2nd Battalions, Pacific Islands Regiment, in Port Moresby and Wewak and the site of barracks for a third battalion which is expected to be established at Lae in 1968. His visit to a detachment at Vanimo, on the north coast of New Guinea, will take MajorGeneral Hassett to within 30 miles of the West Irian border.
