Discontent On Sydney Docks
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright)
SYDNEY, July 23. The Sydney waterfront was in a serious and tragic position, the chairman of the Australian Stevedoring Induttry Authority (Mr J. Hood) said today. Nearly half of Sydney’s 5000 dockers are at present under suspension by the Authority for having refused to work on certain ships. More than 300 dockers demonstrated in the city today, picketing the offices of the Australian Woolgrowers and Graziers* Council and the “Daily Telegraph.”
