London tonight gave a tremendous reception to the Bolshoi Ballet, which opened a six-week season at the Royal Festival Hall with a programme of one-act ballets and divertissements. Cheers and applause greeted the Soviet dancers throughout the evening and the final applause lasted more than 10 minutes as the company took numerous curtain calls. The greatest ovation went to the legendary Vlidimir Vasiliev, whose spectacular leaps and tours en Fair in excerpts from Minkus's “Don Quixote” brought shouts of enthusiasm. Earlier, Marina Kondratieva and Maris Liepa stopped the show with the acrobatic poetry of their dancing in Asaf Messerer’g “Spring Waters.” Is
