SEARCH FOR KETCH
(N.Z. Press Association)
AUCKLAND, July 14.
An R.N.Z.A.F. aircraft from Lauthala Bay, Fiji, will search the area between Fiji and New Caledonia for the overdue Auckland ketch, Wakanui.
The search will begin when an aircraft is available in a day or two. It will be the third air search since the Wakanui was reported overdue on a voyage from Suva to Whangarei.
The Search and Rescue coordinator, Mr T. W. KealsSmith, said there were many small islands in this area but it was not known whether the ketch was near them.
