Elderly Woman Dies Of Injuries

(N.Z Press Association) ROTORUA, June 3. An elderly woman died in Whakatane Hospital yesterday of injuries received when a car and a truck collided in the Waimana gorge, near Taneatua, on Tuesday. She was Mrs Harriett Briggs, aged 90. of Stewart street. Whakatane. Her husband, William Henry Briggs, aged 90, was killed in the accident. Acting Award.—Brian Richardson, who made his acting debut in Timaru, has been awarded the Terry Cup as the best actor in the Henley (Warwickshire) Drama Festival. He portrayed Philippe Marsan in Norman Holland's one-act play, “Liberation."
