ADVICE ON TAX RETURNS
Night Service To Be Continued To assist persons who could not call at the Christchurch tax office during the day, a Friday night assistance agency had been operating at the Chief Post Office, the Post Office Savings Bank, and the High Street Post Office during the last two weeks, said Mr T. M. Hunt, the District Commissioner of Taxes in Christchurch. Although it was not intended to continue this service after the end of May the volume of inquiries handled by the agency at the Post Office Savings Bank had been so great that this agency would be operated as long as it continued to be popular. The agency at the Hereford street office would be open each Friday between 6.30 p.m. and 8 p.m. It would be staffed by experienced Inland Revenue Department officers to help with tax problems and the filling in of tax returns.
