British Change To Metrics (Parliamentary Reporter) WELLINGTON, June 3. The Government still has no information other than newspaper reports on the British intention to adopt a metric system of weights and measures, according to the Minister of Finance (Mr Lake), But he agreed with an Opposition questioner in Parliament today that neither he nor his department had taken any action to find out official British attitudes ■ decimal and metric conversion. He said the Government had gathered that Britain would give metric measurement priority over the adoption of decimal currency. “There is no information available to indicate any need to review the New Zealand decimal currency programme.”
