Dominican Talks By Security Council
(N Z.P A.-Reuter—Copyright) NEW YORK, June 3. The United Nations Security Council will meet to discuss the Dominican situation today.
Russia called for the meeting in a surprise move last night. The council has already Revoted several sessions to discussing the situation. When debate was last adjourned on May 29, it was on the understanding the issue could be taken up again at the request of any member. The council president for June, Dr. J. G. De Beus, of the Netherlands, consulted other members last night on a convenient date.
There was speculation that
the Russians had acted in response to charges by the Dominican insurgent regime that the junta had carried out “repressions” and executions.
