AIRMEN RECEIVE THEIR WINGS
Wigram Graduation Ceremony ‘‘You ar? now fully-fledged members of the Royal New Zealand Air • Force which, small as it is, is acknowledged to be one of the best in the world for efficiency and reliability,” the Secretary of Defence (Mr J. K. Hunn) told members of the No. 40 aircrew course at their graduation ceremony at Wigram yesterday. Mr Hunn presented wings to the following airmen: Pilot Officer J. W. Wolford, Pilot Officer A. E. Dovey, Pilot Officer C. G. Simons, Pilot Officer G. A. Ritchie, Pilot Officer L. W. Fitzmaurice. Pilot Officer B. N. Williams, Pilot Officer E. Y. Crealman, Pilot Officer N. Ramakrishanan (Royal Malayan Air Force), Sergeant G. I. Thimbleby, Sergeant J. S. Bragg. The Flying Training School’s air armament trophy for the pilot with highest marks in practical air armament was presented to Pilot Officer Dovey. The De Lange flying trophy for the pilot with the highest aggregate of marks in flying was received by Pilot Officer Wolford, and Sergeant Timbleby received the Sir Robert Clark-Hall trophy for the signalman with the highest total aggregate of marks.
