TWO-DAY SCHOOL
Voluntary Organisers
A two-day school for voluntary organisers in the Canterbury, North Canterbury, and Canterbury East Federations of Country Women’s Institutes was held recently. The Canterbury federation was the host for the first day, and North Canterbury for the second.
The school, which was to help individuals and institutes conduct better meetings, was run by a member of the Dominion executive (Mrs J. A. Mathieson). Mrs Mathieson, now of Dunedin, has a Canterbury background. She is a former pupil of Lincoln Primary School and Christchurch Giris’ High School. She was a foundation member, and the first president, of the Juriwao C.W.I. After serving on the Dominion executive for four years, Mrs Mathieson had four years away from these responsibilities. She was reelected last year and appointed treasurer. Mrs Mathieson was welcomed by Mesdames G. E. McLachlan (Canterbury) and C. H. Bethell (North Canterbury), and later thanked by Mesdames R. Crossen and M. Riches.
