Susy Has A Home
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) ADELAIDE, May 27. Susy, the three-year-old girl whose mother advertised her for adoption, will leave with her mother for Melbourne on Friday to meet her new “parents.”
Susy’s mother said today that she had decided to accept an offer from a Melbourne couple who had one daughter. “He is a managing director and very well off. I think the family can give Susy the life I never could,” she said.
The couple telephoned Susy’s mother on Tuesday night, and again yesterday. Susy is at present staying with a friend of her mother’s. “I don’t want anyone to know where, as I had hoped that we could have these last few days together alone,” she said.
Tomorrow night they will be alone together for the last time on the trip to Melbourne. “On the way there, and meeting the family won’t be so bad, but coming home here alone will be the hardest thing to take.
“By Monday I hope to be baek at work. I’m going to miss Susy more than anyone knows, but this is the price I’ll have to pay,” she said. The mother said she would like to thank everyone who wrote wanting Susy.
