AUCKLAND, May 26.
A contented mind and an active body are the secrets of a long life, according to Mrs Janet Philcox, of Devonport, who celebrated her 100th birthday at her home today. Mrs Philcox was born in Herne Bay, Auckland. Hundreds of relatives and friends visited her today. Mrs Philcox lives by herself and looks after the housework in her large house as well as taking care of the gardening. lively and energetic she keeps up to date with world and local affairs. Mrs Philcox belonged tn a family of 10. She has one surviving brother.
