Kindergarten Council President Re-elected
Mrs A. M. Steven was reelected president of the Christchurch Free Kindergarten Association Council, at a recent meeting of the council. Mrs A. J. D. Dearsley and Mr O. C. Mitchell were re-elected vice-presi-dents.
Aspects of the work of the council were discussed at the meeting, and appointments to subcommittees were made.
A parent-education committee was formed to help local committees and staff to promote parent education, by preparing suitable material for discussion and study groups. The chairman of this committee will be Mrs A. F. a member of the Kindergarten Teachers’ Cob lege board of studies, assisted by Mrs E. B. Dalmer, principal of the college.
Each member.of the council was allocated a group of local committees, for which they wilt act as liaison officers to the council, for consultation and advice. Also, subcommittees were appointed to deal with finance, building, staffing, and zoning.
The association supports In principle the formation of a family life education council in Christchurch, and was represented at its inaugural meeting.
