REGRET AND OBJECTION
(NZ. PA.-Reuter—Copyright > TOKYO, May 27.
A spokesman for the Japanese Opposition Socialist Party today expressed regret and objection when asked for his views on New Zealand sending combat troops to South Vietnam. When the United States policy towards Vietnam was being widely criticised, New Zealand’s decision to dispatch troops would not help solve the Vietnam problem at all, the spokesman said. The decision was regrettable as it would help increase the international tension, he added. Both the Government and the ruling Liberal Democratic Party withheld comment as in the case of Australia’s decision to send troops to South Vietnam.
Car Rolls Over.—A youth suffered slight concussion when a car he was driving rolled over in Kendal avenue last evening. The car was extensively damaged and was towed away.
