SECOND BLAST

WELLINGTON, May 27. An explosion today rocked the freighter Kokirl as workmen repaired superstructure wrecked by a fatal blast in March. No-one was injured. The vessel is berthed at Evan’s Bay wharf for repairs.
The blast oecurred as the inquiry into the explosion in 'March was being conducted in Wellington.
Mr B. S. Cole, assistantgeneral manager of the Union Steam Ship Company, said the reason for the explosion was unknown.
An investigation was being held. Damage was slight, he said.
