Australian Deficit

(N.Z. Press Association) CANBERRA, April 30. Australia’s balance of payments slumped by £lO million to a total deficit of £7O million in the March quarter of this year. This is one of the biggest falls since the months prior to the 1960 credit squeeze. A decline in overseas investment, a trade deficit and credit for wheat sales to India and China contributed to the drop.
