Green-Hair Protests
(N.Z. Press Association) HAMILTON, April 30. Several “bottle blondes” have found after a dip in Otorohanga’s swimming baths that their secret has come out. In fact, their gorgeous blonde hair turned a funny shade of green after a short swim. But green hair displeased the girls so they complained to the borough council. Apparently the cause lay in the amount of copper sulphate in the water. This is added to combat growth of algae. The amount has now been reduced so bathers should in future be assured of keeping their secrets.
