(e) MARINE ENGINEERING Applicants should hold a Ministry of Transport Certificate of Competency as Extra First Class Engineer. Steam and Motor, or a Certificate of Competency as First Class Engineer, Steam and Motor, and a Higher National Diploma. Candidates with teaching experience will • be preferred. SALARY SCALES Senior Lecturer: M. Dollar 1220 x 40-1500/- per month. Lecturer: M. Dollar 750 x 35 960/1030 X 35 —1100 x 40 — 1380/- per month. Assistant Lecturer: M. Dollar 605 X 25-705/- per month. <IM. Dollar equals 2s 4d Sterling approximately at present.) The point of entry in the above salary scales will depend on qualifications and experience. In addition, there is a variable allowance which at present is 35 p.c. for salaries M. Dollar 506/- per month and upwards. with a maximum of M. Dollar 150/- per month for a single officer, M. THE UNIVERSITY OF SYDNEY CHAIRS OF PSYCHOLOGY APPLICATIONS are Invited for two Chairs of Psychology, one of which, the McCaughey Chair of Psychology, has become vacant on the appointment of Professor W. M. O’Neil to the position of Deputy Vice-Chancel-lor in the University of Sydney. It is hoped that one appointment will be made in the general field of experimental, physiological and comparative psychology and the other in the general field of personality, abnormal and social psychology. The salary will be at the rate of £5200 per annum (incorporating cost of living adjustments). There is retirement provision under either the Sydney University Professorial Superannuation Scheme or the New South Wales Stale Superannuation Scheme.
