Canterbury University’s plans for a business liaison officer and an appointments board secretariat were confidently expected to come to something later this year, Dr. L. L. Pownall, the vice-chan-cellor, told the University Council yesterday. Dr. Pownall said that as well as the Canterbury Manufacturers! Association’s offer to underwrite half of the £3OOO a year required, three companies—Unilever, International Business Machines and Woolworths—had guaranteed £6OO for three years.
