S. AMERICA VISIT

Wool Board Chairman

The chairman of the Wool Board (Mr J. Acland) will leave New Zealand on January 8 for South America.

He will be joined by the chairman of the board of the International Wool Secretariat (Sir William Gunn), the chairman of the South African Wool Board (Dr. J. G. van der Wath) and the managing director of the secretariat (Air W. J. Vines), in a tour of six nations—Mexico, Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, Chile and Peru.

The four wool leaders will hold discussions with South American wool representatives. At present -the South American countries, which produce about 20 per cent of the world’s exportable wool, do not contribute to the secretariat’s promotion and scientific campaigns.
