Parties At Port

The annual Christmas party of the Christchurch branch of the New Zealand Company of Master Mariners was held at H.M.N.Z.S. Pegasus on Saturday evening. Members and their wives were welcomed by the warden of the local branch (Captain E. Sutherland) and Mrs Sutherland. The Christmas cake was cut by Mrs Sutherland. Members of the Lyttelton Volunteer Fire Brigade entertained wives and children at a Christmas party on Saturday afternoon in the social hall.

All children under seven received presents from Father Christmas besides being given a return ride in the fire engine as far as Cashin Quay. The annual Christmas party of the Lyttelton Harbour Board was held at the board’s social club rooms on Saturday evening. About 300 attended.
