SALE OF FIRST AID KITS
Poor Response To Spreydon Drive
The Spreydon St. Johns Cadets Parents’ Associatior had a disappointing result in their drive on Saturday to sell 2000 first aid kits to raise money for a £5OOO-training hall and committee room for the Spreydon St. John Ambulance Brigade. The superintendent of the Boys’ Division, St John Ambulance Brigade (Mr K. N. Larkin) said that only 100 of the kits had been sold which would make £25 toward the building fund.
Mr Larkin said the reasons for the poor results were lack of a full team of canvassers, people not having much money before Christmas, and the area had been previously covered by another organisation in search of funds which had also sold first aid kits. However they were not deterred and would try again next year, said Mr Larkin.
