Aranui H.S. Pupils Receive Prizes

Many young persons he knew could not express themselves without resorting to “New Zealand slang with a New Zealand twang,” said Brigadier J. T. Burrows, Regional Commissioner for Civil Defence, at the annual break-up ceremony of the Aranui High School last evening. Brigadier Burrows urged the children to make every effort to speak well and to cultivate good manners. Manners, he said, were like the multiplication tables.
