AGROUND ON REEF
Trader To Be Salvaged (N.Z.P.A.-Reuter —Copyright) SUVA (Fiji), Nov. 18. The stranding of the small French ship, Alderbaran, had ceased to be the concern of the Search-Rescue Organisation and was now a commercial question—salvage, Suva port authorities said yesterday. As far as was known in Suva tonight, the Alderbaran was still upright on Nanuku Levu reef, about 160 miles north-east of Suva, with the crew aboard. The Alderbaran, a 300-ton French trader, went aground on the reef on Monday while going from Wallis to Vila. The passengers—nine men, two women and one child—are on their way to Suva in a local ship, the Komaiwai, which is expected to arrive on Friday afternoon.
