Burwood Bus
Sir, —Could the Transport Board re-route some of its afternoon North Beach buses to cater for visitors to the hospital at Burwood, and also for residents in that area? Visitors and staff living in the Brighton area have to find their own transport to the hospital, as none is provided by the Transport Board. I feel, as do many people, that the uneconomic shoppers’ bus could be withdrawn and used to give service on this route. Burwood Hospital contains incurable patients whose visitors would come more often if better transport facilities were available.— Yours, etc., DISILLUSIONED NATIONALIST. November 5, 1964. [The general manager of the Christchurch Transport Board (Mr J. F. Fardell) says: “If the writer would be kind enough to call and see me I would like to discuss the matter with him.”]
