Raising Lake Pukaki
Sir, —In the proposal to raise the level of Lake Pukaki 100 ft, the residential area at Pukaki at a lower level will be flooded. No mention is made of the possible fate of the run-holders’ homesteads situated in the lake area on the Pukaki-Hermitage road. If the lake is raised to the maximum it would appear that all will become untenable.—Yours, etc., FREQUENT TRAVELLER. November 18, 1964.
