Provincial Council Building
Sir, —Now that the Department of Agriculture proposes to vacate its offices in the Canterbury Provincial Council Buildings, an opportunity is provided to restore and preserve this outstanding example of early colonial timber architecture. By replacing the considerable areas of perished stonework, removing unworthy additions at the rear, and removing the service pipes, crudely installed along the interior corridor, these buildings could be brought back to display their original excellent quality of design.—Yours, etc., D. E. DONNITHORNE. November 19, 1964.
