WALTHAM GAINS OUTRIGHT WIN

The second round games con eluded on Saturday in the Suburban Cricket Association's competitions. Waltham had little difficulty gaining an outright win over Matchless, which was always struggling against the varied Waltham attack. Burnside thoroughly deserved its win over Beckenham carrying on from 120 for five to reach the good total of 255. M. Maldon scored a good 57 and six batsmen scored more than 20. Beckenham, in its second innings, after a poor start made more than 200. Hooper was the most successful bowler. He took five wickets to give him the match figures of 14 wickets for 111 runs. Sumner easily accounted for Papanul, scoring 197 for a first innings lead of 111. Papanul at close of play had lost seven second innings wickets for 103.
