WAIPARA C.W.I.

Mrs D. G. Croft, president of the Waipara Country Women’s Institute, welcomed members and friends to the thirty-first birthday party of the institute recently. The programme of entertainment included vocal item a community sing, sketches and mimes. A group portraying “The Beatles” were the highlight of the evening. The cake was cut by Mesdames Hawke and McGuckin.

New Affiliations.—Representatives of the Canterbury branch of the Electrical Association for Women and the Christian Women’s Auxiliary of the Associated Churches of Christ were welcomed to a meeting of the Christchurch branch of the National Council of Women. Both these organisations are new affiliations to the N.C.W.
