REFEREE CHASED

(N.Z P.A .-Reuter—Copyright)

TOKYO. Oct. 18. Another Olympic referee was chased round the ring by a defeated boxer tonight. The Egyptian referee, Mr Maghraby, warned the Argentine light middle-weight Jose Chirino, for hitting with an oben glove. Chirino looked disgusted and turned his back when told to box on. The referee then disqualified him and awarded the fight to his Soviet opponent Boris Lagutin. Chirino tried to get at the grey-haired Mr Maghraby. but officials restrained him. Led to his corner, Chirino burst into tears, threw off his handlers and dashed across the ring to attack the referee. But he slipped on the way and his seconds reached him before he could do much damage. Earlier in the week, a Spanish boxer, Valentin Lore, punched a referee and was later suspended from boxing for life.
