Decision Reserved On Two Appeals
Mr Justice Macarthur reserved his decision on two appeals against conviction heard in the Supreme Court yesterday. George William Ormsby, a watersider, appealed against conviction on a charge of stealing ox kidneys worth 32s 6d, the property of the Blue Star Line, at Lyttelton on June 18.
Mr C. M. Roper appeared for the Crown, and Mr J. G. Leggat for Ormsby. lan Charles Munt and Allan Rodger Hart each appealed against conviction on a charge that on May 23 at Lake Ellesmere they shot ducks in flight and used a power boat to chase ducks. Mr Leggat appeared for the North Canterbury Acclimatisation Society, and Mr B. McClelland for the appellants.
