997 Gifts Of Blood Blood donations totalling 997 pints were given to the North Canterbury Blood Transfusion Service last month, including 252 pints received by the mobile unit of the service in visits to Paparua Prison and Amberley. One hundred and thirtynine of the donors were new ■to the service. In September. 1963, the service took 805 nints of blood, including 154 pints through the mobile unit. The total amount of blood issued to North Canterbury hospitals last month was 454 pints, the lowest figure for many months. In September, 1963, 663 pints were issued. Christchurch Hospital took 111 pints of blood last month. Princess Margaret Hospital 205 pints, and other hospitals 13R pints. The mobile unit yesterday visited Waikari. It will attend the Woolston Industrial Clinic on October 15. and visit Waiau on October 29 and Culverden on October 30.
