Writs Sought Against Court (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Oct 1. The Chief Justice (Sir Harold BarrowcloughJ today reserved his decision in an action in which Ramari Hereaka, an owner of land adjacent to Lake Taupo, seeks writs of certiorari to quash orders of the Maori Land Court. The application relates to orders made by the Land Court in March, 1961, in respect to Maori freehold land on the lake's north-west shores. These orders were made in the course of partitioning 168 acres known as the Rangitira B block. Ivor Pritchard, a former Chief Judge of the Land Court, was named as first defendant; the chairman, councillors and inhabitants of the county of Taupo are the second defendants, and Roger Kusabs, of Rotorua, an owner of land beside Lake Taupo, is the third defendant.
