SCHOOL BUS DRIVING
‘Undesirable’ For Teachers (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Sept 30. Teachers in rural areas should be relieved of driving school buses wherever possible, the Education Boards Association decided today. Wanganui delegates said bus driving was an added responsibility for teachers and one that took up a lot of valuable time. In one and two-teacher schools bus driving meant teachers had no time to super? vise early arrivals at the schools and were handicapped in their preparation of marking of lessons. Other delegates agreed it was undesirable for teachers to have to drive school buses but said in many cases it was unavoidable.
