NO CRIME FOUND
Boy Bound And Gagged fN.Z.P. A.-Reuter—CopvrlohO DORCHESTER (England), September 30. The police have reiterated that no crime had been committed and no other persons were involved in the case of Stephen Hargreaves, the 17-year-old schoolboy who was found gagged and bound last Wednesday near railway tracks with both feet amputated. In a statement the assistant chief constable, Mr John Alderson, said the police wished to make it clear that although at first it appeared to involve other persons in the commission of a serious crime, it was now established beyond doubt that no crime was committed and no other persons were involved.
Since Hargreaves was found by three workmen last week, there has been no explanation from any source of how the boy was bound and gagged or how he succeeded in dragging himself unaided to the top of the 25ft embankment after his feet had been amputated.
