ASLEEP IN WARDROBE
Missing Boys Found (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Sept 30. Three Wainui-o-mata children slept while 50 or 60 local residents searched for them tonight. Kevin Marner, aged three, his four-year-old brother Gavin, and six-year-old reginald Kaipo were last seen about 5 p.m. Black creek and all its tributaries were searched three times.
Radio and television appeals for searchers brought an estimated 50-60 residents forward at 9.30 p.m. One searcher, acting on a hunch, looked through the empty house next to his own and found the boys sleeping peacefully in a closed wardrobe. The house is believed to have been locked. How the boys entered is a mystery. While another party was sent off to round up the searchers three dazed but happy youngsters were taken home, given an overdue dinner and put to bed.
