DRAINAGE POST
New Board To Appoint Two applications for the position of chief engineer of the Christchurch Drainage Board were from Australia and the other seven were from New Zealand, said the chairman of the board (Mr R. C. Neville) yesterday after the staff appointments committee had looked at the applications. Because of the election on Saturday, it would be impossible for the new board to consider the applications before October 20, he said. Applicants were being advised of the delay.
The list made him sure the board would have no difficulty in obtaining an engineer with whom everyone would be well satisfied, said Mr Neville.
