Coal Dearer By 6d Bag
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, September 29. The State coal mines will raise the wholesale price of domestic coal by 5s a ton and industrial coal by 2s a ton on Thursday, after the 6 per cent General Wage Order. The price of coal to consumers will rise by 6d a bag. Other price rises in Auckland are 6s a 100 super feet for native timber and 5s 3d for exotic, with the expected increase of 2d to 3d a 100 super feet to cover higher rail charges.
Metal and sand are to rise by 6d a yard and concrete building blocks by 6s a 100.
