“Miss N.Z.” In Dead Sea Floating in the Dead Sea at night, counting shooting stars “there were 21”—had been one of her more' unusnal experiences while. overseas, said Miss Lyndal Cruickshank (“Miss New Zealand”) at a reception given in her honour in Christchurch on Monday evening. “I had only a day and a night in Jordan, so I had to do my floating at night,” she said.
Miss Cruickshank wore a slim sheath frock of flame pink, with a floating back panel. It was part of the brinyion wardrobe she was given when she won her title. : The function was given for Miss Cruickshank by D.1.C.. I Ltd., for whom Miss B. Loughhead compered a preview paradette of clothes showing the versatility of brinyion, in conjunction with Fibremakers (N.Z.), Ltd., who were represented byMrs P. Winkler. A cordial welcome to Christchurch was given to “Miss New Zealand” by the deputy-mayor (Mr H. P. Smith). He also wished her; well in the forthcoming; “Miss World” contest in| which she will represent New i Zealand. Also a guest at the function wass Miss Elaine Miscall,! who was “Miss New Zealand! 1963,” and runner-up in the “Miss World” contest last year.
