NOT JOINING COMMITTEE
Empire Games Promotion ■ Although it supports the work (being carried out by the Empire Games Promotion Committee, the Canterbury Football Association will not seek affiliation with the committee. This was decided after a letter enclosing the minutes and cost of. affiliation with the committee was received by the C.F.A. last evening. Mr R. Storer asked why the association should join the committee when soccer was not Included in the Empire Games. The secretary, Mr N. R. Dixon, said the association had indicated it was interested but had not sought affiliation. “The committee could be in a position to help us on a future occasion.” Mr R. van dcr Monde said. The chairman, Mr J. Smith, said the committee was going to help in the development of Queen Elizabeth Park and assist each member sport. This was a good thing for sport.
